HEALING PROCESS

Updated: Feb 24, 2022

EYEBROWS

Day 1: Your new eyebrows are gorgeous, and you couldn’t be happier! The color is exactly what you hoped, and the shape is perfect.

Days 2-4: You’ll notice that your color has darkened slightly, this is only temporary. This is because the fresh color has oxidized, and it will last up to 7 days. Scabbing should be so thin and minimal that you feel comfortable going to work the very next day.

Days 5-7: Your microblade eyebrows will begin to flake. This is a natural part of your skin’s healing process and you’ll want to avoid picking or itching. This typically lasts 1-2 days.

Days 8-10: Your flaking has finished, and you will feel fully healed. You can now treat your eyebrows normally. Even though your eyebrows and skin feel normal now, you’re still undergoing the healing process. This means that your eyebrows will for a time look lighter than they will when completely healed at 6 weeks. The reason for this is that at first you will have new baby skin and it will need several more weeks to finish healing.

Days 14-28: Finally, your eyebrow tattoo has fully healed. You should love the color and the shape should be exactly right. Soon you will be returning for your eyebrow tattoo follow up appointment where your artist will see how you’ve healed.

Day 42: You can return for your follow up. Your follow up is your chance to ask your artist to make any adjustments you’d like. If you were nervous during your initial service and, and you wish you had gone darker or fuller, now is the time to make your improvements. You should leave completely in love with your new eyebrows.

EYELINERS

“The next days I felt like I had tired eyes, like a hangover. My eyes were slightly puffy; though this subsided by lunchtime and by that evening they were back to normal.”

“After a few days the pigment started to come off in strips, like flaking but it did not hurt. I was completely back to normal after a week.”

Swelling differs with each individual. To eliminate the swelling you can place ice on the treated areas every hour for about 10 minutes. Make sure you are rolling the ice – do not leave in one area. An additional pillow is advisable when sleeping that evening. Do not use eyelash curlers for 5 days after the procedure. New mascara has to be purchased but not to be used until approximately 5 days after the procedure.

LIPS

Day 1: (Right after the treatment) your lips will be swollen and may appear uneven. They will look bold and brighter but don’t worry; this will subside quickly. Also, your lips will release the lymphatic fluid that you must wipe down with the sterile wipes.

Day 2-3: You may still experience slight swelling, and the color will appear darker. Keep the lips moist all the time, and don’t let them dry out.

Day 4-6: You are now into the middle of the healing stage, where your lips may feel chapped and itchy as the flakes are coming away—this is absolutely normal. Do not pick at the scab; let it shed naturally. Keep moisturizing the area without disturbing the flaking.

Day 7-10: During this period, your skin completely flakes away, and you will notice the color is much lighter than it was after the procedure. Let the color settle in completely.

Day 28-42: You can see actual healed results in 4-6 weeks. There may be some uneven spots and patchiness; which is common as each person’s skin will retain pigment in different ways. An esthetician can address all such issues in the perfecting session!

Note: You have to wait for 4-6 weeks for the perfecting session not only because the skin needs a few weeks to heal completely but for the color to settle in and reveal its actual shade.
